Chris leads the behaviour management at South Hunsley School. In his current role as Director of Pastoral care he oversees the House team’s function which provides both pastoral care and academic mentoring.
Chris regularly delivers behaviour management training and mentoring to diverse audiences including: NQTs, experienced teachers and associate staff. Training focuses on the practical application of behaviour management skills (including positive rewards) and the rapid building of effective relationships in order to deescalate challenging situations. Chris’ varied experience of working in both mainstream and specialist schools allows him to draw on a wide range of well developed techniques.
In addition to practical behaviour management expertise, Chris has also developed school-wide strategies to identify and reduce behaviour instances and uses a strong analytical skill set to monitor changes and patterns over time and across both the school and groups of students. Chris has developed and implemented operational improvements that deliver efficiency in the areas of both rewards and behaviour management.
