Paul is an experienced, outstanding leader of Computer Science and ICT across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 at The Hessle Academy Community Trust. Paul has a very real passion for high quality teaching of Computer Science with a child-centred approach. He has a proven track record of stretching and challenging the students in his classes, which has resulted in his students achieving some of the highest UMS marks in the country.
Paul has significant experience in the industry as he has worked for Dunlop and Goodyear Tyres as an I.T Analyst. One of his main roles was to lead a team to write programs that helped the factories run more efficiently and cut the amount of tyre defects saving the company a lot of money. This experience is put to good use in the classroom as students can glean invaluable techniques to help them through a very challenging subject.
Paul has played a pivotal role in the introduction of the new Computing curriculum into EYFS and Key Stages 1 & 2 at the primary phase of The Hessle Academy Community Trust. Paul has worked with and developed teachers and School Leaders to ensure a challenging yet accessible curriculum is in place to meet the needs of the learners and to inspire the next generation of Computer Scientists.
