Recently appointed Head of Hunsley Primary, to lead the development of Hunsley Trust’s first free school, Lucy was previously Assistant Headteacher at South Hunsley with responsibility for Teaching and Learning and Staff Development, as well as Head of Teaching School and Specialist Leader in Education for Teaching and Learning. A highly experienced school senior leader, Lucy’s earlier career as an Advanced Skills Teacher saw her focussing on English and primary transition. She has since played a key role in South Hunsley School’s significant school-to-school support success.
Having recent experience of writing successful national applications, both for the Hunsley Primary free school and the Wolds TSA teaching school, Lucy has the capacity to support other school leaders considering such processes. She has significant ongoing experience of working collaboratively with the DfE and EFA to produce action and development plans for large scale teaching and learning projects.
Having led whole school learning and development, Lucy has capacity to address skills gaps and training needs through a range of bespoke development programmes, for example for NQTs.
Lucy has significant experience of supporting school leaders, including Headteachers and their senior leadership teams. Amongst a range of contributions, Lucy has presented to HMI during Special Measures monitoring visits, been part of a mock inspection team led by HMI, devised action plans to lead schools out of category and led whole school training sessions as well as one-to-one tailored support programmes.
