Tom is an experienced, outstanding Subject Leader for ICT and Computing across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 at South Hunsley School and Sixth Form College. With a focus on high quality teaching, Tom has a proven track record for improving results and increasing student participation at both GCSE and A Level. Tom has been a keynote speaker at the national ‘Computing in Education’ Conference discussing the future of Computer Science in education and the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning in this subject area.
Working alongside primary colleagues, Tom has been able to inspire and influence the introduction of the new Computing curriculum for Key Stage 1 and 2, ensuring that this gives a broad approach and meets the needs of demanding new curriculum. Alongside this, Tom has provided high quality professional development for primary teachers on the development, implementation and delivery of the new Computing curriculum.
Tom also now leads on ITT and School Direct provision for Wolds Teaching School Alliance, having previously been significantly involved in the development of Initial Teacher Training programmes at other alliances.
