The Wolds Teaching School, through our SCITT Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training, provides an exciting route into your teaching career in schools accross Hull and East Yorkshire. We work in close partnership with Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training and the University of Hull’s Faculty of Education to offer trainee teachers an excellent programme that reflects our vision for ambitious, creative and inspirational teachers with limitless potential.
Successful completion of our ITT courses will lead to qualified teacher status (QTS). In addition to this, our programme, assessed and awarded by the University of Hull, includes the opportunity to convert your accreditation into a post-graduate certificate in education (PGCE) and gain masters credits, should you wish to take your studies further.
If you are a dynamic individual with the passion and drive to become an outstanding teacher within our partnership we would like to hear from you.

The School Direct Training Programme is open to graduates with a first or second class degree in a relevant subject. All candidates require grade C or above in GCSE Maths and English. Through the university, you may have access to Subject Knowledge Enhancement programmes before you begin the course. You may even be eligible for a tax-free training bursary of up to £30,000, depending on your qualifications and subject specialism.
We aim to ‘train then retain’ the very best teachers across our partnership and, in return, we will give you a thoroughly supportive, rigorous experience. The majority of your time will be spent in the classroom, working with highly-experienced subject mentors and learning your specialism through coaching and reflection.
You will engage in our comprehensive ITT development sessions, covering pedagogy, practice and theory collectively through your school and university sessions. You will have full access to university resources and expertise.
