Barry is an assistant Headteacher with a background in curriculum design and innovation, now leading on data and timetabling. He has been part of teams that have seen two secondary schools make the transition from good to outstanding and has worked across a wide range of disciplines including CEIAG, Educational Visits Coordinator and Applied and Vocational education. Barry’s background is in economics and business where he led a high-performing department for 5 years.
Barry has completed Leadership Pathways with the National College and has worked as mentor to a number of department and middle leaders who have made a successful transition to senior leadership. Within the trust he led on the move from key stage three national curriculum levels to a bespoke model of assessment, recording and reporting.
Barry has been involved with outreach initiatives since 2009, supporting in a number of schools across the East Riding. Most recently this work has involved assisting schools in considering their use of data, helping drive improved progress and outcomes through effective collection and analysis, followed by tailored intervention to support every student.
