Ian has worked as a teacher in the East Riding for 20 years and for the last 2 years has been the Deputy Headteacher at Withernsea Primary School.
Among a range of management responsibilities and teaching Y6 and Y4 classes, he has taken a leading role in reorganising the behaviour management of the school.
He has assisted in developing a proactive and positive behaviour management system that has seen a dramatic improvement in behaviour and has impacted on the teaching, learning, pupil progress and atmosphere of the school as a whole.
He has excellent communication skills and has also assisted other schools within his local cluster in the area of behaviour and discipline, including helping to adapt behaviour policies, supporting implementation in the classroom, and evaluating the impact of support. Within his role as an SLE, Ian has also extensive experience in supporting NQTs in improving their range of classroom management strategies.
